Success leaves Memories!

Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft shared this story.

“I interviewed my grandmother for part of a research paper I’m working on for my Psychology class. When I asked her to define success in her own words, she said… *Success is when you look back at your life and the MEMORIES make you smile.*

On the other hand, this is what Steve Jobs had to say in his last days.

“I reached the pinnacle of success in the business world. However, aside from my work, I have little joy.

In the end, wealth is only a fact of life. All the recognition and success that I took so much for granted, have paled and become meaningless, in the face of impending death.”

The memory of success also helps to boost self-confidence and self-esteem, both essential ingredients of success. The trail that success leaves in the mind, and the smile it puts on our faces are what makes for happiness.

Confidence does not lead to success, Success leads to Confidence. This happens in two ways: As you become a subject expert, your work provides you with more validation. The knowledge and skills you pick up along the way, make you more confident in what you’re doing. When we succeed, we notice a curious by-product of feeling more confident.

The same happens in your career. As you grow in your career, your work provides more validation, which accelerates your self-development.

Confidence is a consistent trait among the most successful people.
