Personal Interviews no longer Personal❓There’s been a lot of hype in recent studies about AI, VR and Robotics replacing recruiters & hiring managers.
Interviewers are human. There is a dire need to get the Human back into Human Resources, especially at the Job interview.
Being Human, it’s no wonder, that Interviewers have a positive bias to people, who are like- minded.
We all fall prey to this subconsciously. Research studies reveal that most interviewers make up their minds in the selection or otherwise of the candidatein the first few minutes, and spend the rest of the time, confirming their decision.
Unconscious biases like good communication, first impressions, socio-economic status, age, personality etc., can be reduced, but not totally eliminated.
To overcome this unconscious bias, it is expected that technologies, like the chat bot will deliver better results and be a game changer in Recruitment.
Undoubtedly, the Human aspect will remain, but it may get delegated to the final interview.
The full blown effects of these trends, may be seen only in waves, peaking around 2030 or so.
Meanwhile, Technology itself will need to be enhanced for better prediction, and use for Skills Testing, simulated on-the-job testing etc. adjustment for human nuances and preferences etc.
Please share your views on how you think technology will impact the Recruitment process as well as its outcomes in the years to come. .
