Will sharing of individual salaries lead to better equality in pay?

The results of this US survey may be applicable to other countries as well, including India.

The research revealed that .81% Gen Z (25 or below) see transparency as being good for equality in pay……

75% millennials (26 – 41) support this view.

Lesser No 47%  Gen X (42 – 57) are in agreement

Only 32%   Gen Zeers  (58-76) also agree with this. Majority are either neutral or not willing to comment.

However, Baby Boomers (58 – 76) are the most uncomfortable talking about their pay.

Higher age groups are more comfortable talking to trusted colleagues.

Across all age bands, people are most comfortable talking to family members about pay.

Many employees across all ages are also comfortable with sharing  salaries with trusted colleagues.

On the whole, there are huge generational gaps in the attitudes towards transparency in salaries.

In general consensus was fol transparency in pay can shrink the disadvantage that women face in pay parity.
