How to make Hybrid Meetings more Meaningful?

How to make Hybrid Meetings Meaningful?

The pandemic made virtuality a fact of life for one and all, irrespective.

Employees, managers, entrepreneurs, trainers, coaches, public speakers, educators, students, mentors, doctors,  health care workers, entertainers.

All have had to face the challenges of adapting to new virtual technology platforms.

In the last two years, people have become comfortable with virtual ways of working.

Just then comes along the new challenges of Hybrid working.

Most employers expect Hybrid to be the New Normal – here to stay.

Hybrid may prove to be more of a challenge than virtual.

Trying to balance in-person with virtual participants at the same time is no easy task.

Forbes magazine suggests 4 tips to make hybrid meetings easier.

1. Break-up the meeting into 3 parts:
pre-work, interaction, follow-up.

2.Avoid ‘proximity bias’ and keep virtual participants engaged.

3.Mix hybrid meetings with some fun activities like online games and quizzes.

4. Put in place activities outside work to allow the team to stay emotionally connected.

I may add:

5. Factor in coffee meetings, Out-bounds, sports treks and other outside-of-work activities.

6. Provide opportunities for continuous learning for employees.

Employees can then use the time between working from home and working from office to pursue other personal development goals

This will also lead to increased productivity as a By-product – a win:win situation for all.
