Thanks LinkedIn for this badge for Personal Coaching, which I noticed yesterday.

This had prompted me to share some off-the-cuff perspectives on Personal Coaching.

Three As:

➡️ Ask before Advocating:
Delve with questions to understand the PERSON. Understand at deeper level. What motivates, what discourages,  what she excels at, what are the challenges.

➡️Actively Listen to understand.
This process should deepen your own self-discovery.
Emptying yourself of negative beliefs and biases.

➡️Assume best intentions.

Two Bs:

➡️Build mutual Trust:
Trust is the foundational factor of  coaching.  Believe that the person is coachable and can improve.

➡️Be Transparent
Transparency helps to build Trust and a meaningful relationship.

➡️Coaching is a two way conversation. Transparency & some amount of Vulnerability on the part of the coach helps both to grow.

Four Cs:

➡️Set Clear objective, goals and some timelines to gauge progress.

➡️ Constructive feedback
Feedback has the power to make or break the relationship. Craft your feedback carefully, deliver it with positivity & empathy.

➡️Collaborative approach.
The coach and coachee work as a team. The coach needs to research, experiment and suggest  relevant resources (digital or
otherwise) to help the coachee.

➡️ Celebrate small & big wins Celebrating milestones is one of the best ways to boost confidence, self-esteem and stay motivated

✅Am sure you have many other perspectives. Do share them in the comments.
