My topic on ‘How to ATTRACT your DREAM JOB’ – 5 strategies based on #designthinking was well received, despite a minute’s technology glitch at the start.
The crux of the talk was that a #jobsearch today is less about SEARCHING (only applying to #jobboard) and more about
BEING FOUND.

A – Approach (Active, not Passive)
Mindset – (Inbound – strategies to Attract hiring managers) rather than Outbound – (Applying & hoping & praying for interview call – akin to carrying an umbrella in the hope it will rain)
B – Be Self-Aware of –
Hard Skills -Technical Knowledge & Domain expect – WHAT of the Job
People Skills – (Attitudes & Values) – the How of the Job
How you do the job is as,
as if not more, important than What you do.
Transferable Skills (e. g. Communication & Time Management)
Personality traits – values, attitudes, motivation that align with the role being applied for.
C – Clarity of Direction
Key is to target Companies, not jobs.
How to narrow down the search to 10/12 Companies, using PPT formula.
D – Design a well crafted Social Media Brand that makes you ‘Stand Out of the Crowd’
