↗️Silence Converts.When we think of Selling, we automatically, associate it with Speaking.Often, there comes a point in a sales pitch, when the other person should be talking.This applies equally, if not more, to a conflict resolution with a colleague at the #workplace
There comes a stage, when the other person should be talking, and there comes a point when No One should be talking.
Even if not, one gets a chance to collect one’s thoughts and review one’s own stance.
The only way to get to either point, is to know when to be Silent.If one stops talking, one may actually discover a new perspective.
♀️Silence keeps one from saying more than one needs to, or means to.
♀️Silence creates a void, which we feel overwhelmed to fill.
It gives a better chance to Read the other person.In any case, it’s impossible to come to a resolution, if the other person can’t get in a word edgewise.
If someone has finished speaking, and you don’t jump in to take up your thread of the dialogue, the other person will automatically start to elaborate, and may eventually say what you want to hear.
Perhaps, that’s why traditional Japanese businessmen would use a translator, even when they perfectly understood the language
Silence serves two purposes: it either let’s the other speak, or forces the other to speak.
